Seoul Day 4- SKKU Orientation

Orientation day! 27 June 2013, Thursday
met up with neighbour and go school together!
Went to the 600th Anniversary Hall for talks and performance before school tour and lunch!

this view is somewhere near business building, the building u see here is the 600th Anniversary Hall. SKKU goes by: entrance, long pavement (old skku is inside), international hall, 600th anniversary hall, business buildings (school field) etc

Old skku tour! By the way, the grouping for tour is really bad... u can just jump between groups. and the groups may get very big too... tour is hosted by skku students... so they are not professionals la cant really blame right?

ever seen the inside of this traditional room (u see this before officially entering the study/hall compound)
read other posts to find out! haha

forget what already... guess it might be dormitories?

tortoise with dragon pillar

myeongryuntang. those who watched the Sungkyunkwan scandal should know. oh! its pronounced as Seong  (sing a "song") Kyun Kwan not sing-sang-"sung".

the 600 years old tree that exist since joseon dynasty

theres a walkway to link to one of the palaces. I think most probably would be Chang Deok Gung cos in the later part of this trip when we went to CDG, we were briefed that CDG secret garden's is actually linked to SKKU... but u cant really walk there... correction: u cant really hike there... loads and loads of trees and grasses and greens

after which we went to the 600th anni hall for lunch! buffet style! we met Soo Min, my srjc friend and happened to ask her about the adaptor thingy... as u know from previous post, i mentioned that my travel adaptor spoilt and gotten a new one from lotte mart but! its too loose :( cant fit properly into the power point... it means no charging of phone and laptop overnight till day 4...

then, she mentioned there's this extension thingy that she got near her dorm, as found out by her housing assistant (a korean) so we decide to meet her at her dorm to check the extension thingy before getting it!

along the way to the Hyehwa station. this is the skku busstop for shuttle bus into the school! u need to pay for the bus service. some thinks its worth it cos they are late or when its raining or cos the road up the school is really steep

tada! found out that soomin and friends are actually using the same adaptor that we got from lotte mart! so definitely the extension works on ours too! so decide to get it! this is the shop! but u need to speak 100%korean... cos though the kid is young (the owner's daughter) she cant speak English...

extension costs about 500won?

Its a Seongshin womens univ! tada! how cheap?!

shopped around the area before heading back hyehwa for dinner!

omurice! Rooftop prince's favourite?!

----
Note: about korea subway, do note that given the same station if u want to take the train u have to tap into the correct gantry.
Background info: for some stations like Hyehwa, the train goes 2 directions towards 2 different ends.given different directions, they have their own gantry for that direction. i.e. 2 sides of gantry for 2 directions.
For example, Hyehwa to myeongdong line has own gantry. Hyehwa to Seongshin womens has another gantry. if you wanna go myeongdong u shouldnt tap into the gantry for train going towards seongshin.

Understood?

so let say, u went into the wrong gantry how? find the nearest HELP button (usually located at the handicapped entrance)
and btw, handicaps dont need to pay for public transport. (if i didnt get it wrong... thats what i remembered. was mentioned by my strategy class korean teacher too)
