I am back from Korea!

Tadah!

After so much drama in Korea lol... Too much to share to be honest... From incidents that happened when we self-drive in Ulsan and Jeju to people whom we meet when we are unsure of their intentions. Thankful to have people who helped us along the way that was out of our expectation.

This trip, I have gained much more experience. As to traveling and be courageous alone (im a noob lol), to open my mind and to enjoy what there is to enjoy.

Some little sharings!

1) Got to adapt to the left hand driving... that includes you having to multi-task with the usual driving and deciphering the Korean GPS... and the little roads branching by the side! Some little incidents happened, but we were glad that those did not result to injuries etc

2) Missing the spot to U-turn, driving safe may result in something you didn't expect! Well, if its me, I will just drive like a haphazard road driver lol
My friend drove safely in Jeju, so perhaps because of this it resulted in good fortune that we spotted the KSGI Jeju center! And eventually, as a result of this visit, we managed to drop by the KSGI Jeju Training Center too! Really grand and huge. Amazing...

3) We tried the gangchon railway bike! During autumn. Damn cold can but fun!

4) I finally went to Nami Island and Jeju!!! Wanted to visit these 2 places back in 2013 summer but... it was the monsoon season so it is not so safe... was raining throughout during that summer I went

5) I exercised! Climbed the SeongSan Ilchubong! and I was out of breath... There are proper steps though :) the view at the peak is amazing... a pity that the breaking dawn has been covered by the clouds and minimal fog... But nonetheless, we stayed on a while more and we spotted the sun peeking through the clouds! and it went hiding a few seconds later lol (Sunrise and Sunset are really fast! Catch it, record it before you missed the moment)

6) We went on road trip in Ulsan! Something different from the usual Gyeonggi-Do, Busan, Jeju, Seoul! Ulsan is not so tourist friendly even though it does have tourism website to guide all of us... You can opt for the Ulsan bus tour but we have decided to go for self-drive! This is so that we can visit places where we would like to visit! Went to 3 places I think! Gan Jeol Got, Taehwanggang and Seonam Lake Park

7) We attended the local KSGI meeting too! and to my surprise I saw a friend whom I met in Korea in 2013!! Really pure hearted group of members

8) I think the sales persons in Seoul whether it is in Ehwa, Myeong Dong, Express Bus etc they seem to be really angsty this season... Much less to talk about negotiating the price and requesting for more samples lol and by the way, not sure if it is indeed the season... there isn't much sales for cosmetic products -.- and I didn't even get samples for things that I buy... for your reference, I bought like at least a total of SGD500 on those products in different stores... haiz :(

For sure, never shop for cosmetics in Ehwa. Confirm no samples.

9) Tax refund procedure changed a bit...

Check in first. You may deposit your luggage when you check in if the sum you gonna refund is lesser than 30,000won.

For tax refunds lesser than KRW30,000 accumulatively, just proceed to the kiosks near D and J at the departure hall. The officer will assist you with scanning of the forms/receipts. Remember to standby your passport. It is required. After which, they will direct you to either Gate 27 (kiosk refund) or Gate 28 (manual refund. normal opening hours) after you cleared the immigration.

For tax refunds more than KRW30,000 please proceed to the manual tax refund counter at D and J. Here, the officer may check on the goods that you have bought. I guess it is also dependent on the length of the queue... After which, I believe it works the same way as the guide even above. Remember to deposit the lugagges at the Oversize Baggage counter beside.

E.g.
My friend and I checked in our luggages. Then we proceed to the kiosk. The person directed us to Gate 27, when we realized after we cleared the immigration that, is refund kiosks... which we are unsure if we will be able to get the refund on the spot... or credited to our cards which may take up to 2 months... So, we just proceeded to Gate 28 since its tax refund anyways. And yep! Gotten the refund on the spot (you may choose to receive the refund in USD, KRW or RMB)

Chunks and Pieces

Prelims finally over! In just mere 4 days, which is to mean that 1 paper per day. Very xiong. Others better, theirs is spanned across few weeks, at least they have got more time to prepare and do good for each paper :( while I wasnt given the chance, so I had to study every single day to late and early in the morning before the paper starts. Wasnt very prepared for it, Ill say. But, as always, prelims serve to kick off our entire revision. at least, the chapters and stuffs for each modules are stucked in our heads for now la. and yes, its definitely a wake up call. Last paper was yesterday... and so, Im taking a short break today and perhaps throughout the weekends. and then starting to run the engine coming monday., heh. prelims isnt end of everything.

THE BIG EXAM AWAITS. 

And, I dont wanna get bad grades for my papers. goal: at least 3 As. Do you think its possible? heh, lets see my prelims. I swear im not going to let it affect me, whether the results are good or bad.
For this prelims, I found back my inital motivation when I was in my first year. to provide my answer the same as the answer outline. And really, I just have to be alert with the words (my examiners just love to play with words, and yes, EVERYONE OF THEM), and use my brain to think and think deeply.

During this one month break, Im gonna study hard, whilst not neglecting my social life :) yes, Im still gonna go out with friends, go out for gakkai activities. But before all those, I must be consistent in my revision. This is it. I cant fail me.

Missing Chingay badly and fortunately, tmr will be the C DAY! CELEBRATION DAY AHHAHA. Cant wait for it :) Just realised that Ive been missing in action for like a month? hahah so have decided to post an entry to keep this alive.

We played Frisbee cos all the picnic people and strangers went to hide under the shelter and we had the space ALL FOR OURSELVES. teehee! Harmony and love

Back from a long hiatus. A lot of things happened during this period. Some good and some not so good. Lemme collate my thoughts...

So, first up, school's started a month for me. Can finally feel that things are getting a little out of hand. Haha but I dont mean that I want things to get out of control. Just meant that, I kinda expected that subjects will get more difficult as time passes by. Learning more new things and still, Im not using my brains. But well, this is the learning journey right? Remembered during Year 1 I also did feel this way. So, a pat on my shoulder and "move on Elaine!"

Chingay's on track already. Second chingay training tomorrow. Still in the midst of building rapport. Went for Media Brief at PA. Was on the news :) Media Brief definitely has strengthen the bonds between the trainers and our comrades :) and its fun! we saw Mr Yammy! And he's such cutie pieee!!! The way he danced... is... so... epic, old school and ke ai! And so, media brief actual and rehearsal made us all damn wet. No other performances are as wet as ours. Wet from head to toes, from inside out. Owned.

Sensei video yesterday was really very encouraging and inspiring. Then I thought, "aiya wasted didnt ask Geraldine to watch together." Inspired by the junior choir, though they are not professional choir singers and THEY ARE YOUNG LIKE 7 YEARS OLD? their spirit and enthusiam is there! TOTALLY THERE! After watching that, deep down in my heart I thought, even the young kids behave like that, whats more young adults like us. We should learn from them. (90 degrees bow) They sang Ha-Ha (mother), and one very hip song. All of cuteee! omgah i cant take it :/ And then, testimonials by YWD and YMD from Argentina and Taiwan respectively. Their testimonials are reaffirming, revitalising and not to mention, inspiring too! Too rush down from work aint a wrong choice. Made the rushing all worthwhile :) Cos' its the heart that matters. Then, here comes the Sensei's words of encouragement. He never fails to lighten and brighten up the day by his random yet heart-warming questions. Even if I were to forget everything mentioned in the video, all I know was I was really inspired by them, their spirit, their efforts their determination to always return back to M&D spirit and basing on the Mystic Law. Very touched indeed... The people behave like what philosophy they learnt. Study the world foremost philosophy. You should know we humans shouldnt behave the way many are right now. Precisely that, we should not let our mentor down, and continue to strive on for the happiness of oneself and others! Harmony! :)

We should all be humble. Even if you guys are not, I must be humble.

My gastric pain from yesterday till now. So I shouted, "ma! help me get some milk!" She's like "HUH! WHAT!(did I hear wrongly)" cos... I dont drink milk. never. even if she asks me to, I wont. So.. yea. hahahhah :P

Hello Back

Been missing in action lately. Just couldnt find a good time to sit down, relax, drink kopi and type my post in a calm manner till today. And yes, to top it off, its raining outside. Kinda scenic? Like those we saw on TV commercials. lol much.
Waiting for my guide books to arrive but to no avail. Seems like its not gonna be arriving any sooner. Or perhaps the UK side has to receive my payment before sending their courier service to my side :( So... go postmen go! Go deliver fast! Or mehz, maybe I should have sent it off earlier? Or I should have sent it via FEDEX! HAHAHA cos' They live to deliver.
Anyway, its a few days to school reopens for me. For some universities, they are already starting to have their recess week or your so called exam break. and yea, thats just the start of schooling for me. Happy, sad I dont know. Gonna be humble and start working triple hard as Ill be juggling between school, work and gakkai activities and chingay! Ill make sure my quit in Council be worthwhile! And, I foresee that my choice is the most right.
My hands are in an unstable state especially my left hand... :( its weak... Ought to do some hands exercise like clutching fists.

Im back!

Was away from Blogspot for a year or so, switching to Wordpress, and only to realised that its better here in terms of the functions that suit me more. Nonetheless, its not that Wordpress hasnt been good. Its kind to me, like its posts security. I liked that. That is one unique function that Blogspot does not provide, at least for a year ago. Will need to explore again. Anyway, Hello Blogspot! Im back!
