Daily writeup

Ventured into baking Oreo Cheesecake. Despite the praisings from my family that the cheesecake tastes good, I cant bring myself to like it. Prolly, cos I cant take the milk-ish and cheesy taste. Anyway, while baking, Im met with some mistakes like Im supposed to beat the whipping cream with electric beater till 70% stiff, BUT no matter how long I beat it or how fast I beat it, the liquid just cant form or bond into slight solid form! Oh well, something might have just gone wrong.

The recipe is as follows.

Oreo Cheesecake

Ingredients:

Biscuit Base:
110g (80g) digestive biscuit crumbs (I use Oreo crumbs)
40g (30g) unsalted butter, melted

Cheesecake Filling:
250ml whipping cream
250g cream cheese, room temperature
45ml milk
50g icing sugar
1 tbsp vanilla essence or rum (I use 1 tsp vanilla powder)
1 tbsp gelatine powder
10ml lemon juice
3 tbsp boiling water
8 oreo cookies (coarsely chopped)
4 oreo cookies (finely chopped)

Method:
1. Mix biscuit crumbs & melted butter together and press firmly onto the base of cake tin. Chill for 30 mins.
2. Beat whipping cream with electric beaters until 70% stiff or until mousse-like. Refrigerate for later use.
3. Double-boil gelatine, lemon juice & boiling water until totally dissolved. Keep warm.
4. Beat cream cheese, icing sugar, milk and vanilla essence until smooth & creamy.
5. Blend in gelatine solution until well combined.
6. Fold in whipped cream.
7. Pour 1/2 the cheese mixture onto the base. Chill for 15 mins.
8. Stir in finely chopped cookies into the other half of the mixture. Mix well.
9. Sprinkle coarsely chopped cookies on top of the first half of cheese mixture.
10. Pour in the other half of the cheese mixture.
11. Chill for 3 to 4 hours before serving. Decorate as desired.

Highlighted red is the one that I met up with some problems.

Giving up some, just to acquire the other. In the process of sacrificing and receiving, you might realised you have lost far more than you get. On the other hand, the amount that you get might take some time to appear. Choices and opportunity cost.

A review on what Ive been doing lately;
Gakkai meetings, baking and nuaing at home. Just as simple as 1,2,3.

Need to pluck up my courage and REGISTER FOR DRIVING LESSONS ALREADY! (together with ashwini of course. haha)

And start going for yoga courses. Anyway, YAATRA MOVEMENT SUCKS. In terms of their service that is. Seriously, I dont understand what gone into me when I asked liyu to purchase the coupon for me (via groupon or tip-it). It isnt as popular, isnt as well-facilitated, isnt as cheap, and ISNT AS WELL-SERVICED as the rest. my goodness.

2. Chopped the 2 bananas into the above.

3. Lay some of the bananas above the fixated Oreo Base.

4. Pour the melted icecream above the bananas in the Cake Tin. Leave it in the freezer for around 1 hour.

5. Afterwhich, take out the icecream cake, lay the leftover bananas on top for decoration.

Chocolate Ganache

2. Put over the fire to heat it until it melts.

3. Pouring of the melted chocolate over the Tin of Icecream Cake topped with Bananas.

Im back!

Was away from Blogspot for a year or so, switching to Wordpress, and only to realised that its better here in terms of the functions that suit me more. Nonetheless, its not that Wordpress hasnt been good. Its kind to me, like its posts security. I liked that. That is one unique function that Blogspot does not provide, at least for a year ago. Will need to explore again. Anyway, Hello Blogspot! Im back!
